Finding your Retreat

I don’t know about you, but I need a sanctuary to retreat to at the end of a chaotic day! I am a busy mom of a 9-year-old daughter and I run my design firm as well as manage an incredible team to create beautiful interiors. At the end of the day, I like to have some ‘me time’ and enjoy a soak in my soaker tub (maybe there is a glass of wine on the drinks table beside the tub). It is my tranquil space to enjoy some relaxation time and listen to some music or a podcast. My client wanted the same experience for herself, so I designed a new ensuite bathroom for her. She wanted a feminine and serene get away with a traditional freestanding jetted tub in order to melt the day away. The mirrored drinks table added a little reflection and edge to the space, but was also practical for keeping a scented candle and Epsom salts at arms’ length. The feminine touches, such as the crystal chandelier above the tub and mosaic marble basket weave flooring showcased my love for detail. During this renovation, we doubled the width of the window and added a diamond shape mullion with translucent glass for added privacy. It created drama and symmetry as a background for the freestanding tub while adding visual interest. This client did not want to have a roman shade or any window treatment, so the patterned window mullions gave the impact I always want to see in any space I create. My job is all about finding a great solution for the client’s needs. Contact me if you want to create your personal retreat within your own home. Let’s create something beautiful together!
